Overcharge protection (dual-layer)
Cell voltage is actively managed to prevent overcharging, reducing the risk of degradation, overheating, or fire.
Over-discharge protection (dual-layer)
Cell voltage is monitored to prevent excessive discharge, protecting against capacity loss and failure.
Overcurrent protection (dual-layer)
Charge and discharge current is limited below the threshold that would otherwise risk overheating or component damage.
Short-circuit protection (dual-layer)
In the event of a short, current is cut immediately to reduce the risk of overheating, fire, or failure.
Thermal protection
If the battery reaches an abnormal temperature, charging and discharging stop automatically to prevent overheating or degradation.

Which ZIPPKOOL batteries are ETL Certified?
LI-PRO1U is ETL Certified by Intertek, an OSHA-recognized Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL). ZIPPKOOL batteries and chargers are not UL Listed — ETL certification provides equivalent NRTL recognition for regulatory and procurement purposes. Documentation is available on request.
What protections are built into the battery?
Every ZIPPKOOL battery includes dual-layer protection against overcharge, over-discharge, overcurrent, and short-circuit, plus thermal protection that automatically stops charging or discharging if the battery reaches an abnormal temperature.
Is the battery water or dust resistant?
Yes, but the rating differs by model. LI-PRO1U is rated JIS IPX5 (protection against water jets). LIMINI01 is rated JIS IP55 (protection against dust and water jets). Neither is submersible — remove the battery before washing the garment.
Can I use a secondhand or modified battery?
No. Use only genuine, unmodified ZIPPKOOL batteries and chargers. A secondhand or modified unit bypasses the protections built into the original design and increases the risk of fire, overheating, or failure.
What should I do if my battery is swollen, hot, or damaged?
Stop using it immediately. Isolate it in a non-combustible container away from other materials, and do not attempt to charge or use it again.
How do I dispose of an old battery?
Recycle it through an approved battery recycling program in accordance with local regulations. Do not discard it in general trash.
