ZIPPKOOL isn't the right choice for every job. It's not flame-resistant and not intrinsically safe — for welding, hot work, or explosive atmospheres, use FR-rated gear and a non-powered cooling option. In sustained very high humidity, phase-change cooling may outperform evaporative. And fans must be switched off near rotating machinery.

The specification and compatibility questions that come up most.
Which class do I need — Class 2 or Class 3?
Class 3 is specified for roadway and other high-risk, traffic-proximate work. Class 2 covers road construction, work zones, warehouses, and general construction. Check the site's written safety plan — it will name the class. HVN-510U is Class 3, HVN-400U is Class 2.
Does it work with a fall-protection harness?
Yes. A rear opening lets the dorsal D-ring pass through to the outside, so a lanyard or SRL attaches normally. Verify D-ring access before working at height. The garment is not part of the fall-arrest system.
Is the battery certified?
LI-PRO1U is ETL Certified by Intertek, an OSHA-recognized NRTL. Both packs are UN 38.3 certified for transport and FCC compliant. ZIPPKOOL batteries are not UL Listed; ETL provides equivalent NRTL recognition.
Can I wear it near welding or in a hazardous atmosphere?
No. ZIPPKOOL garments are not flame-resistant and not intrinsically safe. Do not use near open flame, sparks, welding or cutting, molten metal, or in areas with flammable gases, vapors, or combustible dust.
